Hi all,

Looking for advice on a Tiger build. I'd like to do a mid to late Tiger (Tiger E?), and thinking about options for large scale. I'm thinking of incorporating it into a winter time diorama - either Eastern Front or Ardennes.

While I really admire the work that precise modelers do - I'm not a 'bolt counting' kind of modeler, as long as it's mostly accurate I'm Ok.
With the missus, I'm lucky if I have a few hours on the weekend to sit down and build- so my modeling is more of the - "let's build and have fun' variety... I'll work to improve a model, but won't mind if some road wheel has 6 bolts when it should have 5.
For example- I've seen that the Hobby Boss has molded-on side skirts. Cutting them off and building up the hanging hardware and reattaching so it looks better is the type of improving I'd do.
However, if say the turret was out of dimension and to only way to correct were to basically rebuild the whole turret from styrene - that's what I don't have the time for.

I know both have problems but if I wanted to tackle a big scale Tiger - which would be better -
the older 1/25th Tamiya Tiger
or the newer Hobby Boss 1/16 Tiger?

(or are they both so bad that I should just go with a 1/35th Tiger - which one? Academy, Tamiya?)

I'm looking for something fun to build, but won't look like a bad dimestore toy

The 25th scale Tamiya doesn't really look the part, with various things being out of proportion. You'd get a better looking result with the Hobby Boss.
