I have been doing some research on the sturmgeschutz, for a possible stash list. From what I have read, the StuK 27 L/24 gun was used on the Stug III A-E. And, the Stug IV used the L/70. However, there are several photos and kits of other variants that mount the L/24. This has me scratching my head. I prefer the L/24 gun, over the L/70. Can anybody please explain how the Stugs are broken down, according to the main armament?

Matt
You're right about the short L/24 was used on the A-E, but the F, F8 and G used the L/46 or L/48. The StuG.IV also used the L/46 or L/48, but only the early versions of the Jagdpanzer IV used the L/48, sometimes with the muzzlebreak removed, and the late version used the L/70.
Hope this helps.
