Are you sure they had radios on them? Very few supply type vehicles did. You might try researching Squadron/Signals Dukw's in Action.

I know the DUKW could carry the SCR-399 Radio Set - like any other CCKW-353 could. This is probably more elaborate than you planned to do, but here's a link to more information:

I think that for general communications purposes they carried Field Radios or Handie-Talkies. I'm not aware of a Radio Shelf and Standard Radio Fit for the DUKW. I'll dig around a little more...

I too have never seen pics of the DUKW with radio's installed. All the info I have gathered has not had any mention of radios in them

Sorry, no help here either, but I'd be interested in anything you find. It would have to be a special modification -- certainly not standard. I've never even seen a restored DUKW with a military radio mounted in it -- and you know those restoration guys just love to add all the GI bells and whistles!

Hi Eric:
I am currently building the Italeri DUKW and have not seen any documentation on radios or antennaes in my research. I've found quite a few WWII DUKW photos and none of them show any sort of antennae front or back. If you find anything different, please let me know. I'm almost done with the model. Now I just have to scratchbuild the figures and a diorama for it.
Good luck on your search for the information on radios.
John

Not knocking the pics but that could have been a post war modification.
