Hey guys,

I'm looking for figures for an EOD diorama in Iraq. I have a Stryker with slat armor, a M1114 Humvee, a few black dog figures and Live Resin weapons and add-ons. Which figures could I use alongside those?

I'm looking for a crew for the Stryker and some soldiers in the street, just looking around.

Regards,

Henry

Hobby Fan has a series of figures called US Stryker Brigade OIF ACU Crew 1, 2, etc... They are both crewmen for/on the Stryker and ground troops to go with them. They sound perfect for what you are looking for.

Check out http://www.divisionmini.com/ also. I saw them at a hobby show this weekend, and wow very nice stuff. I picked up the Hummvee figure set and they even have the drinking tubes for the Camlbak.

Has anyone built those Tamiya U.S. Iraq figures? I see that they're a rebox of Masterbox's, but does the Tamiya kit come with extras such as decals, equipment, and different poses or better styrene not found in the Masterbox offering? (I could pass on the MRE paper).

No, there is nothing else new in the box. Straight Master Box figures with the Tamiya MRE boxes paper. That is it. It would be cheper to just buy the Master Box sets.

You gotta love Tamiya's newest strategy - rebox everybody elses stuff and double the price. Unsuspecting/uninformed modelers will buy it just because it says Tamiya on the box. If it is by Tamiya, it has to be good.

Those guys are marines, I'm looking for regular infantry from a Stryker Brigade Combat Group. Can I use the marines for that?

The figures can be used as US Army soldiers as well. There is nothing specific about them to make them Marines.

On another note though, Stryker units were issued the new ACUs for the first deployment to Iraq in '05. The above figures are in older DCUs. The Hobby Fan figures I recommended are in ACUs, as are the Master Box figures Andri recommended.

As Gino pointed out, Hobbyfan figures should take care of most of your Stryker BCT needs, including the crew.
