Hello all,
I was watching a documentry on CBC yesterday called Deadline Iraq. This was an unceasored look at the war. In some of the footage shot during a battle for an overpass in Baghdad I thought I saw a knocked out M1 can anbyone shed some light on this.

Yes, this was more than likely the Cojone Eh! Its air filter caught fire on the run through Baghdad and ended up being destroyed by two Mavericks from a Warthog to keep it from being captured by the enemy. I have several pics of it if you PM me your email. Just click below where it says PM to send me a private message.

I never noticed the knocked out one on the bridge....just the one that was slewing its turret toward the Palestinian Hotel and let loose a round....lol....seemed like you were right there.....little puff of smoke from the tank....and then BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My unit did the convoy escort for the retrograde of a knocked out M1 near Salman Pak, crew escaped unhurt, TC was subsequently shot in the face but survived. We also recovered a second M1 that had burned from a site in the same general area, this was like two days after Easter.

Actually there were several mobility losses, and just recently a bomb was detonated under one that destroyed the tank, killed the TC and Gunner, the loader lost his arm, and the tank was blown onto its roof.
