Hi there from the last time you saw pictures i ve worked hard enough and i ve reached the 90 % of the dio. I planned to finish this up and then finish the model and the figures that are planned to be there. the x factor (flag) is missing cause i am working on it in several variations to see what is the best that satisfies me. Its my first work after 7 years that i quitted due to several problems and i am enjoying it a lot. workin slow and easy but that's how i like it. Allthough this work will go to the coverup campaighn i did not want the whole dio to be focused on the trench but to include in a balanced way , in the full scene. I d like to hear from you comments and i am open to criticism so i make my comeback in dios a succesfull one. Thanks for your time.
p.s. more pictures of it are in my gallery in the vietnam dio album

Major Goose sir,
looking darn good! I´d only add even more small stuff in there, random clutter, empty crates, pieces of roof and other rubble, ammo shells, ammo boxes, maps, papers...you name it.
Just something that lies around in the real world.
Your groundwork is great, and the layout of the base is very nice and balanced.
Good work, I can´t wait to see more of this!

Hi dear Envar , all he stuff you propose to add is that 10% that is missing for the lifeless stuff in that dio , but i am holding on to add them along with the figures and the M113 so theire related to the human presense over there. Will add ammo boxes and papers and used refreshemnt tins and other stuff.Roof material is not adde cause it is supposed to be a concrete store with no inside house roof scheme (such as wood or other material)
Thanks for the remarks buddy .

Major_goose,
I really like your sandbagged foxhole. Are the sandbags from a kit or scratchbuilt? If they're scratchbuilt, how did you make them?
Thanks! The dio looks great.

Dear Armorama buddies
thanks for your kind words on my work Some info that you ask:
Ambrose82:
The sandbags are scratchbuilded from epoxy putty from a brand called DUROSTICK, but i believe all the epoxy puttys do same job!! you mix the 2 parts roll a homogenous tube cut in pieces shape the bags put them in place you wantem push a little to do the weight sag use a finger with tissue above to fix their surface not o show fingerprints and a fresh cutter blade to do the slim line all around at the joint point of the bag.
Bracomadar:
The tree is made of small bush branch parts with added branches in the main body of the tree (drill with a pin vise and superglue tha branches you like where theyarent in the stuff you take from the garden) and after the mainframe is steady i spray waves of 3M spray all purpose adhesive and then i through from above like rain a stuff mix of what crushed herbs you like to simulate the tree leaves (oregano, mint, parsley dried out, kalmialeaves, marjoram e.t.c.)after every wave i spray again 3M until the tree looks just right.
Tha ground work is a mix from WOODLAND SCENICS turfe (3 variations) a very small particle mix crushed in the blenter of the above herbs and some spice over all.
i apply white glue first and put the woodland scenics main bed i leave 2 days to dry out well and take off everything is not glued properly and then with waves of sprayed 3M adhesive i put the bigger and more heavy particles (small rock pieces ...)till the ypper bed of small leaves and some earth (the earth is simulated by spices of appropriate colour nutmeg, paprika, cinnamon and everything in powder style that matches the rsult you want. at last i spray a light wave of adhesive to keep em in place and also prevent the colour fading if leaving them in direct touch with air.
Graywolf: tha afv is going to be a M113 Vietnam version and i ll have 6 figures 4 military (the crew for the M113) and 2 female civilian vietnamese girls chatting with the soldiers.
Also many details will be added (wooden table, maps, cans, ammo shells, boxes...) that are now scratchbuilded .
Thanks again for your kind words and i hope i was helpfull to all
