Actually it is not, yet. It will be released in Japan in December.

And the photo with Humvees and AAVPs shows models being prepared for a model show by a Japanese master modeler - he modified Tamiya kits heavily, so don't expect to see EAAK armor for Amtrac or Humvee engine from Tamiya!

Well, on December it is! I just saw this thing listed on Tamiya USA's website so I thought that this thing was released already. But I still hate the fact that they reissued the old kits on such very good subjects.

Yep, I agree. I saw the instruction manual of Tamiya's Humvee & I did not see any engine, nope, none at all! but one thing I can see is that the modeller that made these kits is a certified Expert.

There was one released here in the states by I thinkkkkkkkk, Hobby Craft? or Mini Craft Hobby, or something like that.

Tread.

BTW, replicating the EEAK applique armour isn't all that hard....just takes a little patience. I know you've got patience, right guys!

This is just cashing in on OIF.

Suddenly, everyone wants to build an M1 or an M2. So, the major companies throw together whatever they can in the shortest time possible. The result, rehashed kits with a new sprue, new box art, and new decals...

Thanks again for the offer but here in the Philippines, everything is 40%-60% off. Example, King TIger Ardennes front only cost me $ 23.00 instead of $ 42.00, or the FAMO only cost me $ 34.00 instead of $ 55.00 or DML Modern U.S. Marines only cost me $ 4.00 instead of $ 6.00/$ 7.00.......blame the shipping costs.

I agree. Even DML's M1A1HA Abrams OIF is just a reissue of their old M1A2 or M1A1 Marines.

So that sales of their 70's-tech kits at 21st century prices can fund their once-a-year new GERMAN offering. Takes a lot of T34 and M41sales to fund the tooling for their rendition of a Leopold or Karl...

the EAAK kit was from WSN Model, a spin off of Trumpeter. I have only seen motorized versions of the kit. It's a rip-off of the Tamiya kit and the fit is marginal. If you can find it, the EAAK will fit on the Tamiya kit.
Another option is a resin EAAK kit from AEF Designs, mine recenlty arrived and it's very crisp, though I have not tried fitting it to a kit yet.

Here is the WSN/Trumpeter EAAK on a Tammy kit

AEF Designs EEAK is a copy of the old KIRIN offering, which was a ok kit.

The offering by trumpeter/WSN is based on the Kirin kit as well, but in plastic... :-)

I too am sorry to see Tamiya release the TIRED old kits at modern prices to fund a new...WWII whatever. The T-55 was nice, and the T-62 is rumored to be in process.

Tamiya could drop prices on things like the M3 Stuarts and the other small kits...$15 for the M3Stuart...come on!

Here's hoping for a modern MAZ tank transporter from Tamiya! HAH! #:-) #:-) #:-) #:-)
