Shelter? Do you mean like the M109 Shop Van body? Or like a Shelter secured in the cargo bed by turnbuckles for different purposes?

This is a question with GeneralFailure written all over it.
If Jan (GF) doesn't respond to this thread, just PM him. I know he's into the M35 thingie....

Okay - here 'ya go:
http://shelters.co.il/shltr2_per2.htm
The above link is to a drawing and measurements for the S-280 Electronic Equipment Shelter - which was commonly used on the 2 1/2-ton and 5-ton cargo trucks in different internal configurations. The "turnbuckle" pattern is the same as displayed in the Italeri M925 Shelter Truck model kit. The Italeri kit is generally a disappointment - but you can use it as a start for your own special project...
Hope this helps!

Okay - here's some more:
The basic cargo truck (2 1/2-ton or 5-ton) didn't generally get redesignated when carrying the S-280 Shelter - unless as a part of a particular weapon system - like a NIKE unit or such. The link below gives a a pretty extensive listing of the M-Series vehicles and associated equipment for the basic M-designation. Even tells you 2 1/2-ton or 5-ton basic cargo truck. Couldn't narrow it down further because I'm not sure what you're after specifically, but should help you out a little more...

All I wanted is an shelter Designation to put in the back of a M35 series truck. The truck didn't need to change it's Designation. I'll bookmark the link for future use!!!

What is wrong with the Italeri shelter? I picked one up with the hope of someday slapping it on the back of a M548.

It lacks alot of exterior detail from what I've read.
Epi built one and added a bunch a styrene to make it look more realistic.

Oh - the first link I gave you has five (I believe) different designations depending on the type of S-280 fitted to the truck - like S-280C-80 for the S-280C 80" high or S-749 for the 78" long S-280C type. These designations are at the bottom of the page...

I only have few pics of that. All paper. If you want that, I can take them to be scanned later this week. That is : if I can find them in my M35 files (all stowed away now).

I have a drawer full of these shelters. They are easy to fix up with plastic stock and a couple of photos for refs. I have built them as shop vans and commo vans. They work really good for that. I have a lot of extras if someone needs some.

Matt,
Here are a few more pictures of my shleter in my unit. This is an ICSS(Integrated Support Sysytem Set). All it has inside is counter space, racks for our testing equipment and draweers for spare parts and manuals. Back when I was in Germany, I was assigned to a LCSS(Land Combat Support System) section. We had shelters too like this one but they where designated some thing different, AN/TAS ? It was almost 15 years ago since i was in that section, so I cant remember what it AN/TAS number was really. It was a 2 shelter set, one was for parts and equipment and the other had the computer/testing equipment in it. The parts shelter only had on aircondition unit and the other had 2 AC units. All 3 where like the ones in these pictures.
