Not sure if I should post it here or in figures... hope the moderators don't mind....
Are US tank-guys wearing gloves during duty? I posted about a million questions about the M1A1 (thanks for all the answers) and I'm now at the moment of painting my tank-dudes... but I don't like the looks of the hands of the figures, so I was wondering/hoping they are wearing gloves, if so what color are they?
T(h)anks in advance,
Jurgen

IIRC they are a sage green, similar to flight gloves. Hopefully, I'll be corrected if I'm wrong.

Jurgen, as a M1A1 Tank Commander I can say that they are required during live fire and we sometimes wear them when working on the tank, checking oil and maintenance, etc. The above picture is correct, and a very good reference :-) .

Just a side note...
The Nomex gloves are correct for firing exercises, but if you are going to depict figures doing PMCS (maintenance), you might want to consider painting the hands cream or sand; Tankers are issued cream colored gloves similar to the DA-3 black leather glove shells for doing maintenance. Some supply Sgt.'s (mine) get quite upset when the Nomex gloves are worn to do maintenance and get holes, oil, and grease on them and have to be DX'ed...

T(h)anks Gunner, I'll keep it in mind, for now I'll just let my tankers stand in there hatches as getting these guys nice standing straight and look like the real thing is already difficult enough for me...
