Has anyone build the Verlinden T34 Calliope Rocket Launcher conversion?

I’m intrigued by the conversion set but I have been disappointed by some subpar Verlinden products before. If anyone has the set or better yet has actually it built I’d like to hear your impressions etc.

Thanks in advance,
Noah

I’d be worried about any photo etch that came from Verlinden. All of my past experience with their photo etch parts was bad, the stuff was very thick, not scored and it would not bend. I haven’t gotten anything from them in years so they may have fixed this problem

You can check out Nacho's impressive build log for inspiration :

Looks like he used only some of the Verlinden set parts...

Didn't Italeri release this as a plastic kit? Complete with the Sherman AND the launcher.

I know A1's were used as a platform too for the rocket launcher but cannot say for sure if it was the T34.

There were quite a few different launcher systems used so modifying might be an option too.

My goal is to build one in 1/16. Someday.

...Just to make a change from the usual Katyushas

A friend of mine had the Verlinden calliope and eventually threw it away as the tubes were warped and none of the pieces fit.

Thanks Frenchy! I knew I wasn't brain-dead yet!

I think the A3 looks the best but maybe even the "Wizz-Bang" on an A1, you know... the T40?

If you're into US tank-mounted rocket launchers, you can take a look at TM9-394

Here's another TM for the T40 (M17) 7.2 inch rocket launcher

All you need to know about rockets
