Hi guys, I want to build a T-55 AM2B of East German Army. In internet I found two kits for the tamiya T-55A kit, one from Legend and one from CMK. The questin is, which is the best kit?

I've heard Legend is pretty great. And just so happens that I have one of these conversion sets. I remember promising to post some pictures, but I haven't done so yet. So here they are, just a few quick pics.
Nice little box
Instructions are simple pictures. Might be a bit confusing in places.

PE fret
some copper wire and string

There was a build thread no too long ago of a kit bashed CMK AM2 set. If I remember right it is a pretty poor set. I can't comment on the Legend set, only that I've always wanted one to make an NVA tank.

The Legends conversions are usually top drawer, I would get that one before the CMK. It's not to say that the CMK is really poor, it's just that the Legends is just a bit better.

Nothing wrong with CMK that I can see. I have their T-55A interior set, among others. It's very welled detailed, so I'd imagine most of their products are. The only problems I'v encountered are very brittle resin, and a little warpage on some of the parts, like the turret bottom.
I also have started the Legend T-55 AM2B conversion, and have not encountered any problems at all, which is to be expected with their kits. Some might find the casting blocks a bit daunting, but since I've gone to using nippers (and in case of the larger casting blocks, dykes) it has sped up the cleaning process considerably.
You really can't go wrong with Legend these days. I've yet to encounter any shrinkage with any of their releases in the past three years.

Legend give you everything you need in their conversion sets.
I've just completed their T54, mod 1949, my first Legend experience and its a beauty.
I find the instructions clear and the resin a breeze to work with plus you get extras of the tiny little etch parts which fly at the sight of a blade or tweezers!
Now which one next, type 59, Tiran 5, AM2B, 62M ?
That's my 2 Roubles worth

I would dare to say that there is nothing right with the CMK kit. It is outdated, it does not fit and lacks detail.

Go with the legends set its way better I built the CMK and it has some nice parts but way to much work to get it to look right the side skirts are to short and to close to the sponsons making track fitment a bear (in my set anyways) and the resin is brittle , as I said go with legends I also have that set and its way better. You can build a nice kit with the CMK dont get me wrong mine turned out very nice but as I said to much work, But if you want to learn a lot about working with resin go for it

Olivier Carneau did a nice one some months ago.
As far as I remember, he had some troubles with both conversion kits.
I don't know where to find his build on this forum

Cmk engine set is poor.... Plus complete omission of radiator
I would prob go for the legend set, seem a lot better these days.
Like said earlier, cmk set lacks detail, and is very poor in some areas.
