I was looking at all the campaigns and a majority of them has been started and well into them. I was wondering if an OIF campaign has been suggested and if so by whom and when does it start.
If not, since I've seen alot of threads concerning OIF vehicles, would any body like to start one. Also, if that is a yes, and some od you guys started on the kits already, with a little help, we can figure on how to do this. May be since some of you guys have started the vehicle kits, we can make a dio campaign?
What do you all think. I will give this till Friday to get some input from you all.

Thats one!!!!!!!!!!
Lets get a couple of guys first before we talk about rules and when to start and when to finish. Then we can give it to Jim to make officle.
To tel you the truth, I kinda started on some vehicles, but I want to put them in a dio, so why start a campaign

We can call the campaign "Desert War Part 1 & 2!!!" Sounds cheesy uh!!!

Me too! Hell, I just love ODS. Why? I find the dio easier. Also, I've been playing Desert Combat, a MOD for Battlefield 1942. I still have other kits here waiting for this campaign. Inform me if ever this thing starts

Hey guys, this is definitely a Homer "Doh!" Unless it has been started, this is one of those "why didn't any of us already think of that!" things. (probably because most of the membership are not Modern Armour builders )
Glad our Epi thought of it (or reminded us of it). Whichever way ti goes...count me in! I've already got a USMC Task Force Tarawa M1A1 vignette started, so hopefully that will qualify.
Somebody check on this, and let's get this rolling!

Speaking of Campaign's and whether they're 'active', what happened to our fearless leader Jim's plan to start a 'D-Day' Campaign to commemorate the 60th anniversary!?!

You may want to look it for a group build rather than a campaign.
Take a look at the campaign threads, this concept is undergoing a transition of sorts that will limit the campign docket, BUT it leaves open the opssibility of an unlimited number of group builds.

Neither a GB or C has been started guys - but it's a heckuva good idea!

If you can't wait until '04 - do the GB thing!

If you can wait until '04 - I think a Campaign could be in the cards.

Wasn't there an "Under the Sun" campaign or group build that was covering desert warfare? I don't know if it covered ODS or OIF. Will it also encompass maybe the battles in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom)?

Would it be too much to suggest a War On Terrorism GB? O.K. probably not, but I just had the thought of an Avenger Unit parked on the Beltway or Scimitars outside Teminal 3 at Heathrow... This would also encompass Afghanistan, something OIF or ODS would not.

Pencilling in some of the possible categories:

1) Home Front, anything in the continental U.S. or Britain.

2) Afghanistan

3) Anything else, training missions etc..

And before anyone starts flying off the handle about these suggestions, the paramount category for me would be 'good taste'. Personally I'm not 100% sure it could be acheived without upsetting someone. Thoughts anyone? Jim

THATS IT JIMBRAE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"A WAR ON TERRORISM" campaign or group build. Jimbrae ideas are great.
Gunnie, can you help us on this????????
Like i mentioned before, some of us have started kits already, and I'm going to incorporate my vehicles in a diorama. So how can we do this!!!!!!!!!!??????????
1.British and American Forces, and other coilitions that are helping
2. Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Noble Eagle(Home Front), and the late Desert Storm.
3. Plus the rules that Jimbrae put down.
What else!!!!!!???????????

Did this ever get off the ground as a GB, campaign or otherwise?
I was reading that the guidelines for campaigns have been tweaked recently and the amount limited per year.
Is there any room for this one?

Pete-
I'm gonna go with Joe on this one and say that I would be interested in a campaign but only if it takes place in a few months. Right now, everything in life is getting to the point where logging on to this site is a luxury, let alone building anything. I do hope that this works out though.

Good point phoenix-1 since my "Task Force Tarawa" vignette has been shifted and commited to the factually established 'Abrams Campaign'!

Actually, I would like to get some input on my original query as to the status of our good Mr. Starkweather's suggestion for a D-Day campaign, considering we are indeed coming up on a rather historical milestone in that regard!!
Or...did I miss something?

I'm all for pushing it back a few months, especially if a D-Day campaign is waiting in the wings.
I really like the 'War on Terrorism' idea jimbrae had as it has the potential to draw in many diverse and interesting projects.
Maybe we'll try to bring this up again in the summer?

Well guys, I thought this was long forgotten. Since I posted this, I've been working on a OIF diorama. You can see some of the progress in the Rivet Review Board. I 've been showing the vehicles as I complete them. So far I have 2 Hummer's and the M113 done. The Bradley is on its way, and now that I got decals for the M1A1, that will be coming shortly.

Thanks for your input guys, maybe next time.
