I asked over on ML with not much luck so can anybody make a guess as to the markings on the front of this Humber Scout car or is it just the scratchings of a zealous censor?

Also any idea what that wire /pipe is on the non standard stowage box?

Finally is that three letter word on the side of the door PAT?

Was just googling some b/w images of the Humber Scout, when I came across this one.

The front lower hull marking looks like it could be the vehicle weight and dimension card:



It's something you don't notice until you are aware such a thing existed. Several photo examples on Sherman tanks loading up prior to Normandy can be found. There is also the well known Humber image of Cigar:



My calculations put the card @ 8x10 inches:

The pipe is a bent steel rod welded to the hull. It was used as a step to climb onto the vehicle.
