I got a set of these cool stickers that replicate the purplish tint of the anti-reflective coating on optics.. it came in a DEF M60A1 turret kit I think.
I need more!
I've been looking online, all I can find are stickers for Abrams, M113 and LAVs... can't find them for the M60 but I know they exist... I used some.
Any sources for these AFV Club Simulated Anti-Reflective Coating for an M60? If not, I'll try trimming some of the borders of some left over backings, but I'd rather find the proper ones.
Here's a pic..
you can only barely see them on the cupola on this one. Also for the gunner sights and drivers periscopes (not on this model though)

The only place I have seen them is in the DEF set. I agree- they are awesome. I did post on their website that they should sell them separately a while back but so far, nothing.

Right! They also have decals for their old M60 as well as a detailed searchlight that all seem to be components that could be sold separately. I can't believe they wouldn't listen to us telling them how to squeeze even more money out of us! ha ha

I wouldn't worry about it...Anti-laser coatings didn't come into effect on AFV's till the late 1980s or so...
I saw an ASU-85 with them at a show one time and was shaking my head....

just to be clear - anti-laser coatings and anti-reflective coatings are two different things, though both alter the appearance of the glass from many angles
however, i have no idea when the use of which was started by what military other than i know at least some German optics (like range finders) had anti-reflective even at the start of WWII. I also know US submarines had it on the periscopes by the end of WWII. No idea when the US or Russian armies started using anti-reflective on tank periscopes tho (would be interested to know).
the AFV stickers simulate which - anti-laser or anti-reflective?

AFV labels then as "anti-reflective". But to tell you the truth, the M60's I trained on with the marines (I was a navy officer and the liaison for the marines while I was in the "gator" navy) the glass usually just looked like old green Coke bottles, reminds me of bullet proof glass at the bank. That was late eighties but I doubt there were any of the new anti-laser stuff like the more up to date Army may have been using by then.
Useless little windows anyway, mostly just served to tell if it was day or night outside! Maybe it countered the claustrophobic feeling of being inside that noisy shaking thing.
The little stickers are pink/purple celaphane things. Probably sticking with a black/green gloss would be just as good. At least that's what I'll tell myself in I can't find the little sticker things!

The green in the glass is the iron content in the glass
