Started on this kit today.

first proper kit that I have built in over two years.Must say there's that much in the box if I had another hull/turret and road wheels I could build two kits
Well time past so quick I started at 8.30pm and by the time I stopped for a smoke it was 12.00am.
I was unsure about dragons instructions and the frontal armor not having zimmerite so I spent some time making sure and looking on the web, some do and some don't.

Progress so far.

Till next time.
Cheers

I can understand loosing track of time, when it comes to panzer ivs. I can spend 18 hours, at my bench. With the exception of smoke breaks and coffee breaks. I am looking forward to the rest of your build.

Spent a few more hours on my panzer IV.Had a few head aches along the way, first I lost the exhaust pipe that sits on top of the muffler so I had to make a new one using a piece of sprue, then when I was gluing the top half of the hull to the lower it was not sitting quite right.
I installed 2 metal pins that hold the towing cable as the plastic ones always snap off when you try to attach the cable.

Thinking of a way how to make the drivers and radio op hatches workable so they can open and close.

Cheers

Great work! I usually have problems fitting the hull together, with Dragon/Cyber-Hobby kits. I've learned to dry fit the hull halves and fenders.

Karl;

Good start! Looks from your pics to be the good kit I suspect the D has produced, and this one calls me a bit - opportunity to build an apparently fairly nice rendition of a "typical" Normandy-period Pz. IV H with zim.

I would suggest that you might revisit your exhaust pipe - that pipe was pretty thin-walled and your's could benefit from a bit of thinning-out. By me, this is one of those small-but-very-visible details on these tanks which very good modelers seem to overlook on otherwise superb builds! Just suggesting!

I'm watching this one come together!

Cheers!

Looking good so far Karl. As for the working hatches, nothing a pin vice and some thin wire won't fix!

The hole for the exhaust pipe is quite thin, might be the angle of the photo.Cheers Bob
