I am needing a good amount of evergreen foliage and wondered if there were any new products(or old unfamiliar ones) that have been released lately?
I don't know if there are any blue spruce in the ardenne but that might be a possibility. I primarily need regular pine tree foliage though.

Do they use primoso fern for the branches? The pic is too small to make out what it really looks like.

Ola Jerry

Best stuff I have seen so far and used is Asparagus Plumosus fern it already looks like the real deal

I used it to make this tree. Sadly my Asparagus fern was a bit dried out making it a bit of a sad tree but it fitted the scene quite well.

Now I don't know what to get. The pic posted below your post shows some stuff that may work but I also like the stuff you sent me as a free sample. It is what Robert used for his excellent pine tree.
Do you know the name of the stuff in Aarons' post? Maybe I should try to get some of that plus the fern. I know I already like the fern.
But then again, the vehicle I was getting this for kind of sucks anyway so I am wondering if I should spend any more money on it after I screwed it up?

Jerry,
I don't know what it is, since Bragdon is out of CA it might be a plant native to that area.
How much stuff are you looking for, or how many trees/size are you planning on building?

Bragdon is great for the evergreen foliage and they have latex rock molds and casting supplies.

As you know I used the Aspargus a lot already.
IMO it is very good for a tree up to 5-6". For higher trees, if you want to be very exact, it looks a bit to thin and fine. (but it is not bad)

There are all sort of synthetic materials out there, for example her

but I did not test a lot ( I have a sheet of conifer stuff, but did not try it yet)

I would also not do blue spruce for the ardennes, green spruce and fir, yes. The blue's are present, but not common.

This did not help a lot, I know

edit:
a real good moss for the evergreens is
"Hylocomium splendens". They bend nicely upwards, like the real stuff

Thanks guys for all of the options. I now have to make up my mind!! Of course, there is also the budget to consider.
Claude, good ideas that I will keep in mind for other projects but this current project involves using the branches for vehicle cammo.
Today I will experiment with bending and then fixing the fern as it looks too flat right now.
Have to cover that crappy paint job, hehee.

I was very happy to see you post here Robert as I had not seen you anywhere on the web. I was worried about you brother.

Aha!! Very cool wingy thing. I also just got done building the masters for a 1/24 conversion of the FW190D-13 to be used with the Trumpy kit.
Glad that you are OK,
