Maybe a strange qeustion for you guys, but how do you fillyour airbrush?
I've got two types, one is the beginner airbrush from Revell, that's easy to fill, cause it has a bottle underneath... My second is an aeropro looks a bit like this;

I'm reallt struggling on mixing my paint and getting it in there without spilling all over my workbench... #:-)

Any suggestions welcome!

Go to your nearest pharmacist and ask him for single use syringes WITHOUT the needle (tell what your going to use them for).
Volume doesn't matter, but the 2ml version is small enough to go into most paint bottles.
If you use acrylics, you can rinse the syringe and use it a couple of more times. With enamel, you can rinse them with thinner, but depending on the quality they can melt if you use thinner.

You can also use small plastic pipettes. They hold up to about 3mls which is plenty big. I "borrow" mine from work.

Hi Jurgen

What do you mix your paint and thinner in?

I normally use a small plastic pot (that was supplied with an airbrush) or the plastic tot that comes with a bottle of cough syrup... I don't often have any spills transferring diect to the airbrush from with either.

For "ready-to-spray" paints like metalizers I use a plastic pipette.

Hope this helps

I used to mix them in the cap of a waterbottle... but you just gave me an idea; going back to my farmacist and ask for those small bottles/cups they use for medicine...
Maybe I'll get these for free to...

Another thing you can use are the 5 ml eye dropper thingys used for giving meds to babies ( looks like a mini turkey baster); you can get them at most supermarkets for about $1.50 each...

I mix my paint in old med bottles(since the wife and I are older, we have a constant supply!), then I use a plastic pipette to transfer the paint to my AB.

Hi, Jurgen:

I use Tamiya Airbrushes one Spray Works Spray Gun and the other is a recently bought Tamiya HG Super Fine airbrush.

I usually thin my paints to the consistency of skim milk. It should drip off the stirring stick I use for mixing them. If it drips, you can load it up your airbrush.

I use empty paint bottles (I save them when paint runs out) and used plastic cans for storing 35mm camera film. They still have their uses.
