Thanks Sean. I am really looking forward to seeing this dio when it's all done. I'd really like to be there for the presentation to the Ft. Stewart Museum.

Build time has been spotty and posting even more so. Here’s a long update of where it is at the moment.

New barrels for brass tubing. Mount in 2nd pic has since been corrected.

Pre-shade, base coat and some modulation.

Antenna mounts.

Dusty and chunked tracks. Tops under the skirts so no point in the extra chunking.

Decals made for the antenna flags.

Weathering done and about to move on to stowage and figures.

Marc;
Are you not adding the side skirt I'd tags? Did some of the tracks not have them?

I think Marc should add them. An easy addition even at this point.

Surely will if I had a clue what you are talking about. LOL. I'll check you build Bob and see what's the deal.

I'm looking at the pictures the late Yves Debay took during OIF and published in the Raids Hors-Serie n.º 10 "Victoire en Irak. Opération Iraqui Freedom" (http://raids.histoireetcollections.com/en/publication/1066/raids-quarterlies-10.html) and it shows most of them with the smoke discharges uncovered.

In pages 4/5 tank "Ben Dover", pag 24/25 tank "Blitzkrieg exercised", pag 59 "Blakula" (this one with NATO "European" camuflage), pag 65 "Carnivore" (also without desert camuflage). And there are many more exemples. I just gave you the ones that I could understand the guns' inscriptions.

Only the chapter about the infernal colums shows two tanks with the smoke discharges covered.

So they were used with the smoke dischargers uncovered and loaded. That is for sure.

Hope this helps.

Andre it's never to late

You are correct that most didn't have the cover but I have ref pic of this vehicle with them on so I made that addition.

Here she is with some stowage.
