Yet another 251 rolled off my work bench. This is the AFV Club kit, with AM from Blast Models. I just can't remember where I got the engine from, it might have been Great Wall Hobby, but I'm not sure, sorry! Please do comment.

Jacob,
You did a great job with this build. Was the figure part of the AFV kit?

Really nice paint job. That figure looks like the old old Tamiya "painting guy" from their halftrack many years ago.

A great model!
I like the shown details a lot and indeed taking care of gear is shown to little in models.
I have just one gripe and that is that the vehicle looks too old and weathered, given the very short time these UHU's saw service. But that is just my personal taste.
You have any WIP pictures or did I miss the thread?

That's one very nice rendition of the UHU. What I especially like is the clear lens of the IR-equipment and the figure, cleaning it. The engine's compartment is also very nice. The head-phones resting above the driver's place are real eye-candy. Congratulations.

Glad you liked it.
Jerry: Yes, you're right about the figure, it is the old Tamiya guy, but I did some changes to the arms, hands and replaced the head with one from Hornet.
Ron: You're right about this kind of vehicle didn't see a long service time, and therefore shouldn't be much weathered, but my idea with this vehicle is, that it's made up from an older 251, and then refitted into an UHU version. This is why I chose to give the search light a grey color, instead of the color of the vehicle. Someone might prove me wrong in this, but I think it looks cool.

BTW, Ron, are you going to C-4 this year? If you are, you can see this one live.

A great 251 right here! I'm a huge fan of the 250 and 251, and this is one of the finest I've seen! Congratulations!

Ron: C-4 is a big model competition in Malmö. It's in the last weekend of October. You can find more info by Googling C-4. You should really give it a try, it's a great show.

Absolutely beautiful detail!! I love it. I have a question, did you have to cut open the hood to add the engine?? I am so impressed by this build that I am going to buy the model and engine (lion roar)to attempt this impressive build !
