Excellent Chris,
A true diorama: Foreground, main subject and background.
I really like the use of the photo as background.
Cheers,
Joe

Thanks Joe, it was a lot fun and a lot of work ,most of the time i keep'm small, just enough for a good display for my armor, but every now and then i do a large dio to challenge the skills.
it's nice to have a thumbs up from a fellow modeler.
thank you
chris

This looks very good Chris
It is always a good idea to give some explanations to your build. Scratch or not and so on. Sooo? :-)

Thank you Claude
The church, road, and wall, i scratch built out of plaster by pouring blanks and scribing in the detail.
The 105 is the hobbyboss m-4 Sherman with appropriate rear hull detail scratched in, the turret is the Faxon 105 conversion with just handles and pick points and a metal barrel from rb for the machine gun added,
The figures are all tamiya modified by using the hack, wire dowel to position, and putty method.
All the ground work is from roots, static grass, sand, the usual stuff.
I make all my own washes, and dust and dirt effects using pastel chalk to save more money for kits and P.E.
I have two other d-day time frame dios i'm still working on , a town scene and a beach landing one this dio just happened to be the first i focused on.
town
beach
I love making dios, just wish i had a steadier hand.I'm glad you liked

Excellent work Chris. The natural sunlight (I'm guessing) really sets the whole thing off. Love the tree too.

Incridable amount of detail in such a small scale.

thank you jerry.
the real challenge for me is keeping the hand steady and details to scale.

I love dios too Chris, and I like yours!
It's already been stated, but nice job w/ foreground, subject, and background. Enjoy the coloring of the stonework on the Church.
OH! And way to use those old Tamiya Figures!
Cheers
Dave
