An announcement from Meng shows a very early small French tank coming our way, and this should be a hit.

This is fantastic news!
I really hope that along with the Italeri release of the same subject, we'll see the market for WWI subject finally start to get some satisfaction.
I'll be eagerly awaiting for the reviews of both new FT-17 kits, but am already anticipating that the MENG kit will outshine the Italeri kit.
Good times!

Good news, but why is it that two manufactures come out with the same thing at the same time?

If anyone's not totally satisfied with this, there's a 1/16 scale one out, also

It was actually only ever called the Renault FT, not FT-17. But it's nice to see WW1 getting some more coverage.

Another interesting development. Look forward to the release of this one and the Italeri kit. As mentioned new kits of WW1 armour in 1/35 plastic are long over due.

Great to see this like I said in the other thread but Meng let's have more WW1 tanks like new state of the art Male and Female tanks after this too.

The staff of tank museum at Saumur call the tank Ft-17, not FT. And modified versions were called Ft-31...

While I build primarily WW2 German subjects this one could definitely tip me over given Meng's reputation for detail and the fact that it will include a full interior for the fighting compartments as well as the engine bay. Even at 1/35 these guys are tiny vehicles so would be a lot of fun working on one.

Oh, I will have to get one! It will sit next to the Tiger I and the M1, with a Maus on the end!

Thanks!
The little Renaults coming from MENG and ITALERI will be very welcome in my collection. I have a shelf in one of my display cabinets dedicated to "The Evolution of US Armor, World War I to the Present Day" that has space reserved for the Renault 6-ton Light Tanks. Obviously, the MENG version will have the round, cast turret. I haven't seen the ITALERI offering yet- does anyone know which turret the ITALERI FT kit will feature?
By the time that I have at least ONE EXAMPLE of every major US AFV, I will no doubt be reserving SEVERAL SHELVES, or an ENTIRE CABINET to achieve my goal...
