I have the M1070 truck tractor kit and want to paint it in the Iraqi war desert color but there is no model paint depicting the FS33446 tint. Can anyone help me with a brand name alternative.

Hi Les I have used Vallejo model air sand 71.075 and it does come up nice In the model master line you can go for Sand FS 33531 both of these colors will give you acceptable results Hope that helps Cheers Ben.

I have seen some pics of this vehicle/trailer in an overall green scheme. A couple even hauling afvs in desert colors. Any comments ?

yes, some M1070's are overall green, others are NATO camo, while others are overall sand. Some were seen in NATO camo with sand CKP (Cab Protection Kit - armor), soem also have different colored body panes/parts that were replacement parts as well.

They carried all worts of loads no matter what colors they are.

Is that a blackhawk on the back of trailer? As for paint, I have used the AK airbrush color of US Desert Sand and it was great color.

Have you had any airbrush blocking problems with the AK paint ? Looks a great tint.

Re the overall green scheme. Would appreciate the federal standard number used. Looks like FS 34094 but not sure. Cheers

Just a small one, for some reason the ones I purchased at AMPS two years ago were really thick like Vallejo color and needed to be thinned.

I asked AK about it and they said they should be thinned for airbrush uses already. It wasn't a big deal, a little thinner and they worked just fine. Dried fast and flat.
