Hi there!
A lot of the time I was away from you, life forced to be absent .. what to do.
I would like to present the history of the Polish Soldier uncommon, bear Wojtek.
Here you can find some historical facts:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wojtek_ 28soldier_bear% 29%
This is a film about him and his story:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giRwps3_0bA
If you are interested workshop I invite you to my blog.
Here some pictures of work:
I hope you curious story of an extraordinary soldier.
For clarity, the bear did not take an active part in the fighting, he took an indirect but important, bore ammunition. A work is my mental shortcuts with a slight hint of over-interpretation of historical facts.
This does not change the fact that the ammunition carried by Wojtek falling on the heads of German Nazis at Monte Cassino, the Poles beat the Germans (therefore also Wojtek)
Name Wojtek - a traditional Polish, very, very old name, the time slaves.
Woj - warrior - Wojtek
Best regards

Thank you very much.
Unfortunately this is not the only domain of the Russians - a bear. Wojtek is not a myth, a story of another bear is not a myth too, he was under the care of the Poles. Polar-bear-Baska Murmansk (Murmansk Basia) - there are historical facts, not a myths
When the Poles chasing the Bolsheviks (stopping the expansion of Bolshevism to the west of Europe) and they are already in the areas of Russia, they took a polar-bear.

Thank you again and best regards

Rafal- its good to see you back here my friend and this new piece is an stunner in more ways than one.
I've read an article about this bear in the past and it is fantastic to see it brought to life so well like this. As usual your vegetation work is sublime (real vegeation is it or aftermarket?) creating a fantastically verdant scene in which to display the story. The figure work and that on the vehicles is of a truly awesome standard- you've managed to bring such a strange story to life so well- inspiring work Rafal, truly inspiring.

Hi Rafal,
A really creative display to tell the story of the bear and his life with the Polish Army during WW2.
Terrific work.

Superb. The story of Wotjek is one that has always fascinated me so it's brilliant to see him in dio form. The dios are beautifully done. Animated, brilliantly executed, painted beautifully and above all they tell a story. Well done mate! Class work!

Great work! Love the thought that has gone in to the layout and details. There is going to be a statue of Wojtek here in Edinburgh a city where most of us know his story.

Thanks guys.
I am pleased that you are interested in the story of Wojtek.
Scots I know that you know, I also know about the monument

Agus tá mé sásta!
Unfortunately, over 50 years after the Second World War, the Polish schools could not learn about Wojtek, Insurgents, Guerrillas - in general, not communist heroes.
But as you can see, with the Poles is not so easy, impossible, force us to forget
Thanks again
Cheers

Thank you very much for the kind words, I'm just a backdrop for the soldiers and the bear ... so unfairly treated by history. I salute the people who will notice, perhaps tell this extraordinary tale .... because it sounds like a fairy tale, right? And it happened actually. Interesting little story and a rather smart way of displaying different parts of the same scene. All around fantastic build, Rafal.
