Petty question I know.. but trying to add accessories on an old M60 from late 60's to early 70's.

I know the duffle bag (aka Sea Bag for us squids) that I had are still in use, the nylon ones with two padded shoulder straps.

These replaced the older style that was usually canvas and had just one strap.

When did the new ones show up?

Newer version:

Hi Bruce;

I retired from the Navy in 2002 and the style with the two straps, was still being issued and sold at the NEX. I did see the new style among some of my Army counterparts.

I had a couple of the double strap styles from 80 till 02 for my deployments.

I hope this helps.

Well, when I went through BCT at Ft Knox in 76 we were issured the later version with the two shoulder straps. The bag itself was canvas with Nylon shoulder straps. Still have it too. HTH

We had the "newer version" when I joined in 1978.

I was issued the older single sling style 'seabag' when I was going through USN basic training early 1977. I'm not sure if this helps clarify or not.
