Hey gents
I found a line drawing online and I want to scale it to 1/35 so I can print it. Does anyone know the formula or percentage to scale it? I hope this makes since. Thanks.

You need to know the scale of the drawing or dimensions of the prototype. Measure one dimension of the drawing and divide the prototype's equivalent part. Figure out what percentage of the prototype the drawing is then determine what percentage of 1/35 (0.0286) the drawing is and enlarge/reduce by that percentage. If you have neither a scale for the drawing nor a prototype's dimensions, you are SOL.

It makes perfect sense.
Scales are simply fractions. Simple math will tell you how to transfer one scale to another.
You need to find something on the online drawing of a known dimension, preferrably a large dimension to reduce measurement errors. You then divide known dimension by the online drawing dimension. That gives you the scale of the online drawing.
You then scale the online drawing by:
(online drawing scale)/35
So, if the online drawing works out to 1/56.75 scale the ratio = 56.75/35
If the online scale is 1/8.9 then the ratio = 8.9/35
Howzat?
