Made a start on this new kit from Roden. It is refreshing to build a military subject that is just a little different.
The kit has crisply moulded parts that do unfortunate need cleanup and some test fitting, but assembly is still straightforward and of good fit.
Roden supplies the parts for a comprehensive engine which will not be seen unless a keen modeller wishes to open up the bonnet access to display it. Front wheel assembly allows for the wheels to be moveable.
Painted using Vallejo paints.
The interior is well detailed as well.

Well, I have to say... what a beautiful looking vehicle and if they don't release it in 1/35 I must have one regardless of the scale.
Now, I'll be watching this with great interest as it looks like it's shaping up to be a nice kit!

Hi, All! Boy, what a GREAT kit that BLITZ BUS would make in 1/35, especially if it were to be made available with Driver and Passengers!!! And, if it were to be made in Military AND Civilian guises!!! That round "Steampunk" radiator grille is TOO COOL!!! That little "Tail-Fin" at the rear of the vehicle is SOOOO "1930s-1940s Art Deco Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers"-style, isn't it?

The Roden 1/72 Aero is available as a kit in the 1937 civilian version. It would look great in a two tone colour scheme to compliment that fantastic "art deco" shape!

Michael,
Quite an unusual subject that you've got going here. It's almost as ugly as some of those 1950's North American cars or even the Edsall! I must admit that the interior seating is rather unusual and makes me wonder how visible it'll be through the kit "windows". Be interested to see how this progresses.
Cheers,
Jan

Ugly? I've always thought it was a beautiful design. I'd love to restore one to drive but I'd prefer a short bus(pun intended).

Myself I wish it were a regular Blitz Bus with all those beautiful and interesting "Vista" windows. The pig shaped snout of the Aero just does not turn me on but to each his own!
Regardless I wish it were available in 1/35th.
p.s. Working now on a old Vac-form kit of the regular Blitz Bus in 1/35th.

Is that a special "First Class" section in the rear? Private party here?

I love that Steampunkish design of the Aerobus. With that cool tailfin. Really nice. I wish Roden did a 1:35 version of this bus.
It makes me want to start my 1:35 Blitz Omnibus Kommandeur wagen. Was Lucky enough to get it cheap as an old banger somebody already assembled. After an evening of carefully taking it apart and putting it in the oven cleaner it was as good as the day Ironside put it in the box.
Your build actually has inspired me so much I'm going to take it out of the stash to have a good look at it again.

Oh, I didn't think of that. Now that you call it "steampuck" and I come away with an entirely different opinion. Very nice!

Hi Michael,
Excellent work, really neat looking kit. Nice to see something different.
