Okay I know a lot of people missed out on the Michael Wittmann tiger from Cyber hobby (me included) but luckily they bought out the Orange box early production kit which is more or less based on the same kit.

I ordered my kit from america as it was not available in the UK unless I missed one somewhere. It arrived today and I had to pay an extra £13.23 because Royal mail are crap and sting you for what they can

On opening the box there is a ton of stuff, but I was a bit disappointed with the low tub as there is no torsion bars and the road wheel arms are molded on.

Here are some of the work I have done to the rear plate and mud guards.

Main lower hull
Rear plate

mud guard brackets glued in place

The right side guard did not look right to me as there was a bar running down the middle so I checked and its right for early tigers

You need to cut off a small plastic part so the convoy light can fit.

Mud guards are on but there not a very good fit and there is a gap if you look underneath, but they look ok.

Thanks for looking

I think a lot of us bought these with the same thought in mind.

Ouch on the shipping by the way, glad to see this one went straight to the work bench despite that.

Yes ouch on the shipping as I had already paid £10 postage
Might actually get some paint on this kit as I have built 8 kits in the past 2 months plus bought myself a new airbrush and compressor and not even used it yet

Cheers

Yes, that's a problem with the kit. If you build it with those rectangular welded frames on the rear hull, then you need to cut out the cross-shaped hole to clear the convoy light base. And you need to cut it out on both sides, because they made both mudguards from the same component.
When the welded frames were deleted - right around the time when 1331 was built! - they simplified the convoy light base and the cross hole was no longer needed.

Not sure if I have put the exhaust flaps on the right way round. Some early tigers show the exhaust flap to be located towards the back of the plate wall but this kits flaps are at an angle.should the flap be positioned out or in?

Thanks

I've seen them attached in 3 different ways. No obvious rhyme or reason for it;

But the 5 posts always form a pentagon whose base is parallel to the wall.

Thanks David.
Can't quite tell but I think the instructions show that there set up like your middle picture.Just wanted to make sure before I install the exhaust shrouds on.

Many many thanks

Done some more work on my tiger kit, managed to finish the hull for now.
Added Karaya tow cables which are much better than the stiff ones Dragon supply.Cables are so easy to bend but there a bit thicker than the kit cables.
Left the hatches open just in case I decide to and any crew figures.

Thanks
Karl
