Hi all
I need som advice on painting spent shells like shells from RB model or ABER.
Obviously the shells have the right brass color, but not for 1/35 scale and I also think they are too bright.
Any advice on how to paint them is appreciated.

Hi Ole, I spray gold with Revells enamel gold metallic. Then I spray then open end with anthracite and dry a little silver
on the very tip. Hope this helps.

Ole,
I hit them with a burnt umber filter to take away the showroom look brassiness, then a flat or matte clear coat.

Ole;
As Frenchy posted, there is at least one thread on this cool topic.
There have been some right here on Armorama - I recommend you go see the recent discussions on:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/198898&page=1
In all of these threads, part of the discussion is about using and treating real brass items as from PE and AM kits (and occasionally supplied in a few bigger tank kits by Dragon, etc.), while other parts deal with how to do up your styrene or resin items.
Enjoy!
