Hey guys, while browsing the net I ran across verlinden figures of Modern U.S troops in Iraq and Afghanistan circa 2001- present.Looking at the photos the quality does seem to be acceptable. My questions about these figures is that, how accurate are they for modern soldiers in this theater? I know they are painted in DCU's, but could they be painted in the ACU pattern as well without making any modifications to the uniform on the figure? Thanks in advance

Which set exactly are you talking about?
Verlinden is hit and miss, I would say. He usually rehashes old equipment pieces, weapons, and figure parts... there are many inaccuracies in his figures, but it all depends how much of a "rivet counter" you are.
I didn't get any of his "modern" figure sets. I feel there are many other modern figures which are much nicer, better posed and more accurate.

Hi Calvin,
i have the most of their modern Figures and they are OK in Quality. It depends on which Figure set you are Interested.
The Weapons must be replaced because they are bad done. The equipment lacks some Detail and i think it is not really right. The heads are OK but i would replace them with hornet ones or now better with Live-Resin ones. The same for the equipment and boots if you want it correct. I have them for the poses and arms and update them with aftermarked parts. The Masterclub ones are nice done and for me now better and cheaper than Verlinden. If you want top Figures in Detail you have to pay 13-15€ for one Figure but you save money because you need no aftermarket parts. For the top ones and with all the right equipment look at Evolution Miniatures, Nato in Miniatures, Masterclub, Ant-Miniatures and Live-Resin. These are for me the best ones aviable.
bye, bye

If you want resin figures over plastic, Verlinden ones are cheap although one could get the Live-Resin figures and use those for parts.
Verlinden guns are wrong...they have 20-round magazines (U.S. Military doesn't use 20-round clips since Vietnam) and have dimensions that look too small.
Their heads have no chinstraps and most have the older PAGST helmets.
Molding is decent...crisper than most 1990s DML plastic ones. Poses are pretty good depending on which figure set you want.
I will buy Verlindens for the arms and legs and sometimes the torsos. The gear, heads, gun, and sometimes the torsos need to be swapped out.
The plus side is that they're cheap. The minus side is that they're not very accurate and are missing details such as chinstraps, 30-round magazines, and the latest gear and guns.

Another problem with Verlinden is that if you are using them together with other figure brands they are usually on the bigger & bulkier size, and look wrong with brands that are finer/smaller in stature.
