Hi Gang,I have got a hankering to do an M109 From the IDF and was wondering which kit would best help me along ?...
It would have to be one of the Revell/Italeri offerings because the Riich and Kinetic kits are just WAY TOO FAR out of my price range !.
Any help would be appreciated

Well, if the new kits are out of the question, your only choice will be the Italeri M109A2. Revell re-boxed it as the M109A3GA1; it's otherwise the same kit. Don't buy the M109A6, the turret will be wrong.
Your main problem is that changes to match the Israeli fit, especially the newest version, will take the price back to where the latest kits are - unless you can do them yourself.

As indicated if you want a current IDF Doher then you will have to spent a decent amount if money, either by buying it upfront such as the forthcoming Kinetic Doher OR through expensive conversions.
If you don't mind an earlier IDF M109 then yes any boxing of the Italeri/Revell M109A2 kit will suffice. In addition the recently reissued Italeri early M109, boxed as an M109G will provide you with a very early IDF example, with the original short barrel.
Decal wise Bison has a sheet dedicated to IDF M109s (1980s - 2008ish)

If I remember correctly italeri did a M109A4 that had stowage baskets on the front of the turret and a different gun travel lock and it did come with israeli markings

Hi Danny,
In the same position as yourself, but due to impending house move im not modelling at the mo, given AFV Clubs past releases i'd wait for them to release an IDF Version, it wont be too long.
