I have a Wolf figure that I would like to install into my tigers cupola but his right leg is bent outwards and wont fit in the cupola.is there a way I could soften the leg so I could try and straighten the leg?
I could cut off his torso but don't want to do that.
Thanks in advance.
Karl

Hot water will make it soft

I agree with Darren. Hold it in a cup of hot water from the waterboiler for a bit and you should be able to bend the leg to the position you require.

Cut it and fix back in place at an angle that will fit. Fill the gap with putty and complete the details again. A simple conversion that will be experience for the next time you need to do this?

Hi thanks for the advice.
I tried hot water but had no luck, then tried boiling water and left the legs in for 5 minutes still no luck.used a hair dryer for 10 minutes no go,so I ended up putting him in the microwave it did work sort of but the leg split, so I just cut it into two bits and filled with putty.the resin they use must be good if it did not soften after what I had done.
Lost a bit of detail on his legs after sanding but wont be seen.
This is the guy before.
and after surgery
Sitting in the cupola with his arm resting on the hatch.
Thanks Darren/Robert

Hey that works just fine for what you're doing For future reference, I've often used a candle flame to soften resin so that I can manipulate it. It will often turn black, but it rubs off.

When you can't see the figure from the waist, or hips, down, I generally just cut off the lower legs or feet so the fig will fit into the hatch.

Try both cutting & heat. I do quite a lot of reshaping to resin figures for my requirements & always get very good results.
A good procedure to do is this: make a cut about half way through the leg/arm/whatever & then use heat. I have a good hair dryer which has a very hot setting purchased on Amazon.
Hold the figure in the heat flow with a pair of tweezers or something similar for a minute or so. Then bend the leg to your requirements & then quickly place in cold water. It seems that resin has a 'memory' so getting it into cold water wont allow it to go back to its original position.
I have used this method on many figures, like the Bravo 6 series & always get good results. I have made standing figures 'sit' in vehicle seats so try this & you'll get what you need!
Good luck.
Joe.

Put the figure on a carton box and over a heat house system.

gently (with gloves) and after 4 times i had the result i wanted.
