I know very well! I'm presently working on a Diorama sited in Hue during the Tet offensive (new town, south of the Perfume river) and it will include at least one residential building.
And I'm half french myself, so...!!

Just saw the new photos! The brickwork looks convincing, except for one detail:
if you look at the open sides, you see a vertical line almost from top to bottom, dividing the bricks through the middle.
This would mean a serious weakening of the structure, as the walls would tend to simply fall apart. Instead, every second "layer" would be across, so the corresponding gaps now present should be filled.
I hope I managed to explain the matter!!
The railing on the balcony looks good! Paperclips..????
Congratulations on your work so far ..and thanks for sharing it!
Cheers

Very nice work Truong, you are a truly gifted young man (Sir!) ... so thanks for sharing this.
And you also have shown me, for one, a neat lil' technique in producing ruined walls. Simple art store materials and some sculpting skills, this is very convincing and I'm looking forward to your progress.
Cheers

Hi Kira,
Wow, the ruin looks great! You have an eye for detail. I just remember my poor attempts when I was 17!! That was far from your level!!
Congratulations on a big talent!
Allow me one remark (issue discussed elsewhere on this forum too):
while the rubble looks absolutely realistic, you must produce higher piles (a lot higher)!!
One trick is to "complete" the house (just measuring or cutting it from cardboard) and then (given the thickness of the walls) you can evaluate the amount to be displayed.
And yes, take a good look at all the demolished buildings you can find (in real life or on the web).
You are doing great Sir! Keep it coming!! I will enjoy it!
Cheers
