Maybe it's some of variants of update T-80 to T-80B version.
Will see details.

unlike the T-64, BTR 70 and T-62's, I AM going to wait for later versions before throwing my wallet into the ring.

That said, this looks good and I approve!

Haven't we already seen the CAD model via the same Trumpy Facebook source for the T-80BV? I am pleased that we are getting an eariler more "Cold War" T-80.

Will get all the variants they care to do!

I guess that has been the real game changer in the hobby from Dragon and Trumpeter, not having to rush right out and buy the base 'vanilla' version of the kit and then scratch up conversion or later versions or wait/hope for the aftermarket guys to come through.

I'm glad the basic version will be available, but I will wait for the later versions before picking and chosing which I 'have' to have.

This may be the vanilla version of the kit, I don't know. I am assuming that:

1. The 16mm plate is a optional piece and not molded on.

2. The kit comes with the needed pieces to make a pre-16mm glacis plate T-80B, ie it has the V-guard and Tow cable brackets.

Otherwise I see Trumpeter coming out with a T-80B "early" version.

Just as a reminder:

Trumpy T-80BV CAD Model on Facebook from six months back

We've seen five T-62s released (understand more are coming), two T-64s, two announced, and two more at least beyond that.... Two T-90s, etc.

So to say that we're going to get lots of T-80s would seem quite logical....

So yeah, wait for the one you want, or the one that's closest.

Lovin' it!

Are you thinking T-64BV? I haven't seen anything T-80BV beyond the CAD model? Would love to be wrong.

Going to be a very full few months of modeling acquisitions!
