Toni,
If your after German, than Jeff Shiu's are the best.

But there are also a lot of very talented sculptors and manufacture's out there.
It just depends on what you would like.
Cheers Jason

Hi Toni,
I got my first 1/16 Alpine figure recently, the WWII BAR Gunner. I really like it. But until today I never heard of Jeff Shiu. His figures look real nice and are $10 cheaper than Alpine's too. Thanks Jason for turning me on to them.
