Well now, a few months ago my brother sent me a very nice 1/35th scale kit of a Tiger I, "The Ultimate" kit by MFH, for my birthday.
To say this is a highly detailed kit is a bit of an understatement. In my younger years I was an extremely avid military modeler, but I must confess it's been quite a number of years since I've had the time to indulge. This being such an extensively detailed kit naturally I'd like to put out my best effort on this project.
I've spent almost two full months compiling period photos of the tank so as to be able to glean proper colors and such but there's one question I've not been able to find the answer to.
How many track links did the Tiger I have on each side?
The kit builds into one of two versions, an "early model" and a "late 1944 model" with various differences in suspension components and other minor details, even different muzzle brakes on the main gun. But when building the tracks the instructions state "95 to 97 links per side", but no reason for the difference is given.
Was there a difference in the number of track links between production versions of the Tiger I? If so, which versions used 95 links and which used 97?
Thanks in advance for any and all helps on this matter

There were 96 links, per side. You should check out this site:
