Another option, depending on you or your friends' medical conditions... Several of the types of glucose test strips (i.e., AccuChek SoftClix) come in a cylindrical cartridge that drops into the test unit; these cartridges come in individual plastic canisters that resemble 35mm film canisters. The only caveat is that the lids have a thin cardboard insert covering a recess holding a granulated dessicant; if you don't want to risk the cardboard getting soggy, falling out, and dropping dessicant into your paint, you'll want to knock out the cardboard with a pen and dump the dessicant before use.
