Hi,
I will be making a US Jeep from Bronco in 1/35th scale soon.
It will be a jeep used by either 82nd/101st Airborne on D-Day June 6th '44.
Are there any special markings I need to put on it like US gas stars, for instance.
Thanks for your help.

Joe.

Not a expert on markings but what I do know is the star on the hood had the white circle, the stars on the left and right rear corners could or could not have the circle. Filling in the area between the circle and star with gas detection paint was done by a few infantry divisions.
Some thing I've learned recently jeeps in airborne units were not assigned to company's only to HQ and service company's. So the bumper code's would read 101 AB 506PI HQ or SV.
Or to make it simple no unit markings at all as they removed them or covered them with grease or mud when they went into combat.

On amother not, no WWII jeep had the toire pressure codes on the outer body. They were inside the wheel well above the tire.

Here is a great referance for Allied WWII morkings.
