So this is a "what if", or a paper panzer? If the driver's hatch is molded shut, is this an older release Pz lll?

Looks like this uses their newer Panzer III M as the base. If that's the case, the closed hatch referred is the hull escape doors. They were deleted from Ls (maybe even late Js) onward.
