Hello all,
I was reading an article in the army post about the M1 felled in Baghdad by some mysterious projectile and a referance was made to the other M1 felled during the war,by an RPG-7. Can anyone enlighten me on the incident? Thanks

Not positive, but the only other I know of is one that was hit in the rear and disabled in Baghdad in early April on one of the first Heavy Metal runs into the city. It was abandoned and destroyed by US Aircraft to keep out of hands of Iraqis. It technically wasn't destroyed by the RPG, we destroyed it.

I had seen the article with pictures in both the Marine and Army newspapers. It was speculated that it was hit by an RPG-22 which apparently fires a different type of round than an RPG-7. From the pictures it looked like it could have been a type of kinetic energy penetrator. Fortunately the crew managed to get out without any serious injuries.
