Hi Ciro,

this is a Harris HF radio antenna. It was first seen on M1130
CV Stryker. The small box in front of it is the HF Coupler.
The mount before it is the third antenna mount installed on HMMWV`s. Usually, SINCGARS and FBCB2 equipped HMMWV`s have there antennas. Two whip antennas for SINCGARS and a smaller rod for EPLRS system.

Hi Hans-Hermann,thank you for the reply!
Do you know if the mount at the estreme right (2nd photo)has a name?!
Do you think that is it a field modification?!
Cheers

I looked at joining the Sprue Bender site but I don't want to jack with its unique password requirements. I would bet money that the vehicle is an M1165 and not an M1116 without a turret like the poster is stating. I would love to see the data plate.

Hi Ciro,

can`t tell what the name of the device is. I only know that it`s intended to install an antenna mount (SINCGARS or EPLARS)
through the extended roof.

Thank you fellows!
I've a couple of question.
Are you able to ID which type of mount is this?!I suppose it has also a dismounted harris HF coupler.

(Have you ever seen a so long cip !?)

TIA Ciro

The antennae mounts are certainly unique looking. The one on the right rear looks larger than the normal spring base mounts.

The CIP's are in the Department of Defense supply system in several different sizes and colors. You definitely don't see the longer, narrower rear panels too often.

The shorter, narrow panels on the each side at the rear of the vehicle were very common on HMMWV's when I was in Iraq in 2003 and 2004.

Good photo, thanks for sharing.

Hi Brent,I bet that the support is a mix of supports, the square items after the antenna is part of harris hf antenna/coupler,you can spot it in the previous photos.
The base of the antenna looks like a normal support installed over an "extension" ?!can it be?!Who knows...

Cheers and thank you for the info about the cip!

You're welcome Ciro I'll see if I can find other M1165 pics but I'm no Humvee expert so I may have to double check them to be sure

At least I can send you a hi-res version of the picture in my last post if need be...
