This has happened a couple of time so it is rare. I was using the Aztec 470 and spraying Tamiya. I sprayed for along time and I noticed that the paint on the model was actually attracting what looked like dust and when I tried to clean the model it really looked like lint or dust. Did I spray too long and start spraying the micro dust around my house?

My money is on loose dust in the house
(Heater is probably running full blast in Canada - canned heat = convected air currents also)
found a slightly wet and sticky surface to adhere to
Is the paint dry (shortly) after hitting the model?

Hi Major
Sounds to me as if the paint is drying in mid-air before reaching your model.
Good Luck

Hi there
If it's atracting dust so badly, maybe it's a static electicity problem...
All the best

Godfather,
As you said you're using Tamiya acrylic, which is ALREADY a GRAINY pigment.
I suspect (2) possabilities. 1) the paint is drying before it sets on the model.
2) the mix is not wet enough. (increase thinnner ratio)
ASSUMING the airbrush is clean and you are spraying w/ a regulator/water trap.
Two remedies to test my theory:
1) decrease your spray pressure to within 8-10 psi
2) add glass cleaner and 2 drops of dish detergent to the paint.
this formula makes the paint wetter by chemistry make up
Try these tips and keep us posted. TODD
