Hi all! I'm new here.
Let me introduce my latest build.
I search this board quite often lately, so I think it's right to contribute, too.

A piece of cake! Build and paint in 3 days!
A relaxing summer project completed with Gian Luca Cocchi: my "mentor" and owner of my Lucal Hobby Shop, here in Modena (Italy)

Figure is a Tamiya Type 90 Tank Commander with a Royal Model Italian Tanker head.

I grab the box with the idea of kibashing a sci-fi vehicle (my usual business).. but can't resist to the temptation to build it OOTB.

More .jpg at my LHS site--> Link
And here a walkaround

Cheers,
Francesco

Thank you!^^
It was a fun job.

I was surprised Trumpeter didn't miss anything.. except the layout of the camo..
Maybe decals aren't perfect and you can substitute rubber wheels with some more detailed resin ones.. there is a Voyager photoetch set link, too if you think you need one.. I don't
PS: Nato camouflage was simply hand painted: easy and fast compared with dealing with masks and airbrush.. too many little details!

I'm from the old school: painting tanks, I usually use Humbrol enamels with their thinner and oils for weathering.. Verlinden style.. sorry ^^"..
Camo was simply hand painted: modern Nato camouflage has quite sharp borders so after painting the big blotches with well thinned Humbrol enamel and a no.1 point brush, I simply faded the borders with a drybrush of the respective colour.
I know.. I'm a lazy modeller.. but 1/35 scale isn't my ordinary business: if you can use FB here you can see what I usually do (Maschinen Krieger and other stuff)

I'm pleased to see from time to time an "old school" modeller's painting job. I feel quite bored -or shall I say palled on- by the use and abuse of "modulation"...
Great job with the brush, un vero cappo lavoro Francesco!!

Great build Francesco. Good job for your hand applied camo, the result is very nice even if I personnally find that the brown is a bit flashy for the Italian camo.

Welcome on board!

Francesco, very nice build! Well done. Thank you for sharing. One question: Would the camo extend over the tools, as well, or would the tools have been taken off prior to painting the vehicle and left their original color?

Thank you all for your warm welcome.

@Olivier Carneau: you're right. It's a matter of how green and red brown colours balance together; mine green is a bit too green so I had to exaggerate the red brown (and in photo it appears a lot more orange). This gives the "WoW!" effect to the model but detracts some to the reality in scale, I know

@Thomas Rahe: from the walkaround link I posted in my first post above, it seems camo extend over the tools.
I always see green tools on modern vehicles (not bare wood and gun metal like we usually paint them) and usually camouflaged with the vehicle.

Very great built I like the paint. I think your green is right.

Here the color on a VTLM Lince. It looks exactly the same green in my mind.

Do you know if the Puma 4x4 has been deployed with this camouflage in operations ?

My knowing about 4x4 Puma is quite poor: I simply build the model OOTB and placed it in a firing range during some exercise here in Italy, so I had to ask my friends at Master Miniatures.

They told me 4x4 Puma wasn't an effective vehicle to confront modern warfare threats (indeed Italian Government joust donate first batch of 20 4x4 Puma to New Libyan Army-->link scroll to the middle).

4x4 Puma were sent for a brief period to Afghanistan but don't think were never operative.
It is actually still operative in Kosovo.

6x6 Puma were a little more effective but still couldn't deal with a IED ad have very limited all around visibility compared with Italian Lince--> link.

Sorry for my little knowledge
