Hello, colleagues.

After SMK tank construction ( https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/196131&page=1), I decided to construct model of the tank which was SMK prototype - the SMK-1 tank.
Work on the project was begun in 1937.
The SMK-1 tank had to replace the outdated T-35 tank.
The SMK-1 tank had three turrets with guns of caliber of 76 mm. and 45 mm.
As one of options, on this tank it was offered to use the chassis from the T-35 tank.
This project (the wooden model) was shown to Stalin. The project was approved, but was specified to carry out some changes in a tank design.
It was decided to clean one of small turrets and to replace the T-35 chassis on more modern and reliable (torsions).
The new version was realized, and the SMK tank was as a result constructed. SMK-1 and remained at a project stage.

Unfortunately, didn't remain exact full drawings of the SMK-1 tank. only sketches and drawings of the hull of the tank:

Using these sketches and having applied the T-35 tank chassis, I constructed model of the SMK-1 tank which could look so:

Dmitry your scratch builds are so impressive. This is the only Russian tank I've seen with side skirts like that, but the suspension in the sketch looks intimadating so it's good. I can only imagine what you'll do next...armored train?

You scratch build a tank faster than I can put a regular kit together! Great work on this one!

Colleagues, thanks for the positive reviews of my work!

Greg,
I plan to continue the subject "Soviet heavy tanks".
I plan to make tanks:
T-39 - a four-turrtet prototype
T-35 (two types of this five-turret tank) - real tanks
T-100 - the two-turrret tank was constructed in the single copy, passed tests during the Soviet-Finnish conflict in 1940.
KV-1, KV-2 - real tanks
KV-4 - development of the Soviet engineers which wasn't realized
IS-1, IS-2, IS-3, IS-4 - real tanks
IS-7 - a prototype who wasn't constructed
ST-1 - a prototype who wasn't constructed
T-10 - the last Soviet heavy tank
All models are planned on the scale of 1:48.

Bob,
operation with this model proceeded nearly six months...

Chris,
I already built earlier the KV-2 tank on the scale of 1:35. I will do now this tank on the scale of 1:48.
I am glad to help with construction of your model!

Chris,
I too am going to make this tank. As well as you, I will use the Elefant Bandai chassis. What tracks you use? I acquired Gaso-Line firm tracks for this model:

Looks beautiful already! What color scheme are you going to paint it? The standard green, or maybe a whitewash?

The painting of this tank will be standard green - the Russian tank 4BO color.
