Romain,
Your copses look incredibly realistic! If you photographed them outside with an appropriate background, I doubt anyone would notice they are models without close scrutiny.

Here's a brief feature of using weed roots for their fine armatures.

Hi Fred,
great idea!! Anything natural and free of charge should be considered for use if you are a diorama builder!
My wife is used to my looking at nature with "certain intentions"...and she is also prepared to accept the negative side-effects of my collections, i.e. the various bugs!!
Anyway, these roots look a lot like my favourite raspberry roots!
Nothing can beat nature when it comes to portray nature!
