Guys, Can anyone tell me if brackets were used for the extra tracks on the easy 8's in Korea or were they just welded onto the turret sides? Any close up pics would be appreciated. I do have the book, Postwar Shermans in Canadian Service coming to me, but not sure what the book is like for pictures.
TIA
Brad

Well, I guess this is a question that no one knows too much about. I received the Canada Weapons of War publication called The post war Sherman in Canadian Service, and if you want good info on the M4A2E8, it's got good info with photos, but there isn't a single photo of a tank used in Korea by Canadians. Is anyone connected at all with any of the Korea War associations in Canada, in particular the Lord Strathcona's?

Hi Brad
Maybe these would help (can't seem to see any bracket, but my eyes are not as good as they used to be )

Hi Brad,
You only posted 8 days ago...and it is summer time...patience.
From all of the images of the Canadian Korean War Shermans that I have been able to view and collect the spare track sections (Centurion track sections) appear to be simply welded on the hull and turret sides. There are no visible brackets or mounting bolts on the track sections.
The use of the spare tracks varied between which Squadron was deployed if you are building a model of a specific tank.

Thanks Jason. Your post in the Greyhound thread helped a lot too. If I am impatient it's because I have embarked on a Korean War project within our club for a 11 Nov display, so I need to get my self going to get it done.
Thanks again
