I do not have any expert friends around to watch while painting a model. Pictures and texts always leave out some questions on my mind and they are too many to bother the forums with. Can anyone recommend a couple of DVDs, videos that demonstrate the painting of some AFVs step by step..

if you want to watch some before buying check out You Tube.

Plenty of model related videos on there.

Overall? I'd go with this one. Solid content for beginners and takes the time to carefully explain what is going on>
