The main idea of this design was to develop a tank capable of resisting the blast of a near nuclear explosión.
That's the reason of the "boat-like" shape of the hull, and the use of four tracks to increase ground contact mantaining a low ground pressure per inch.
Only one prototype was actually built before Kruschev's doctrine sent all the heavy tanks projects to the "recycle bin"...
