Heres my only completed armored vehicle. It was one of the last kits I finished before my six year modeling break.
I started witht the Academy 1/48 Merkava Mk.I. Its basically straight from the box, the only outside the box stuff on it is the exhaust louver which is scratch built and the rear bustle, I thinned the kit part with a grinding bit and then removed the plastic between the rails.
I pre-shaded the hull with gunship grey and then added the base color, which for the life of me I cant remember what color I used. I then weathered with washes, Tamiya weathering powders, water colors, and silver paint. For the road wheels I tried something different for the rubber areas. I used a sharpie marker and after dull coating they look pretty convincing, atleast to me, lol.
Anyway, here she is in all her glory, enjoy........
