Hello and happy modelling to all. I have been working on the Academy M1151. I know it isn't entirely accurate, so I have been doing some scrathbuilt and aftermarket modifications to sort of bring it up to spec. I have been using some leftover Eduard PE from another kit and due to an error for a supplier, the Voyager PE for the Bronco M1114 ( they sent me the wrong one to what I ordered, so I used what I could). I decided not to go with the O-GPK, instead just modifing the GPK to suit. I am about to start the painting process this weekend. I am using the Legends Humvee crew and additional figures. Lastnight I did a dry fit and took some photos. Thanks for looking.

Photobucket isn't playing nice with me today so here is the link to the album.

Thanks for the feedback Jason & Brent. I started primeing the major components (Roof, Turret, Chassis, Body etc), with a couple of them done my airbrush started to spit, so I will get a new moisture trap tommorrow.

I am finally happy with the progress and build of this kit. I think that I could say that I had modeller block. I would always get to step 4 - 5 then put it aside to start another kit. I got to say, not trying to jinx myself, but I am looking forward to finishing this kit.

The ACU for the figures will be interesting to paint. If anyone has any suggestions in regards to this, feel free to chip in.

Hi Tony,
It's looking very good.Have you tried fitting the figure in yet?I used the Legends on one build and had a lot of trouble getting any to fit correctly.A ton of trimming.Found they were also too tall to get the roof on.If you don't mind the extra expense, get the DTOYS crew made for the Academy kit. They fit very well.

Tom

Hey Tom, I did a test fit for the figures a couple of weeks ago. I needed to heat a couple of the figures, the driver and the rear passenger off memory, with the wifes hairdryer to bend the legs and arms slightly to get them to fit. The rear passenger had his rear up off the seat so bending the legs a bit sorted it out. Thanks for the tip on the other figures.

They make decals for the ACU. I used them on a Legends figure and they came out nice
