Just thought i would give you guys an update on the Model Valley guntruck conversion iam working on, and maybee sometime soon i can post some pics. of it as well as the other ones. Well I decided to name the model valley conversion "Rebel" and iam doing the name by hand on the side of the truck in Red, with the truck being a flat black. I may go over the edges in a green color or just leave it the way it is. Iam waiting on Verlindens Black G.I. Vietnam too see it i ca use him as one of the crew members. since there are only 2 main guns i would only need 2 crew members and a driver, the kit comes with a driver, and for the other crew, i took one of the GI's from Tamiya's old M113 Command post and modified him a little bit to be loading an AK-47, and turned out ok. After that is all figured out i have to glue on the XM-134 mini gun on the back as well as the ammo belt, and the dual 50 up front and put some ammo belts hanging off of that. thats about it except for a few more few things like the weathering and such,

Nice Jim,

Can't wait to see it. I am a GunTruck aficionado also (unofficial member of Gunnie's Gang ) Been working on one of the 2nd? Generation GunTruck's myself. I have taken the semi-scratchbuilding route by using an Italeri M-925 kit as a base. The version I'm portraying is 'the Untouchable'. I'm also trying to put together the technology so I can post pics of my 'kit-mangling'.
Actually, I'm intimidated too much to post my pics against the likes of Gunnie's gems!

You know Gunnie, and I know I'm stretching it here, but I've been thinking along the lines of building a dio that portrays a column of supply trucks along Highway 19 that have been ambushed and a couple of GunTruck's are coming to the 'rescue'. I'm thinking of a particular engagement I read about where the driver of one of the GT's gets toasted by an RPG....remember that one, or am I hallucinating?

That scenario happened several times - the first that comes to mind is the destruction of the early GT "Corps Revenge". The Cab was ripped apart by a RPG.

Another that comes to mind was, I believe, "Satan's Chariot" which took three separate RPG hits over the span of one week of convoy escort duty. They kept fixin' it and sending it out - and it kept on getting hit. I don't think "Satan's Chariot" took one of those hits in the Cab, though, but it's possible as that was the enemy's target...

Your idea would be nice - I've always wanted to do that too...
